Hello All. I suppose the basic information about myself should rest permanently in the “About” section so I’ll just start by telling you that my name is Lynette and that my main intention with this first post is to simply offer a brief explanation of what it is I intend to do with this blog.
I once heard that If you write about events in your life that you can’t control it makes them much easier to bare yet because I lack the patience to literally write about my personal “goings-ons”, I decided that a blog would be a great outlet for me. I thought, “hey, this blog thing offers me the opportunity to express myself through written word (which I find is much easier than spoken) and gives me the chance to display my creativity, as well.” Initially, I stuck to simple formats like those offered by Myspace. However, those of you familiar with Myspace’s blog know that there’s not much room for growth/expansion and since I hope to someday see my posts wrapped in the self-designed frame of a personal webpage much like this one and this one I began looking into blogs much like this one. In fact, the only reason I refrained from getting a blog of this caliber was simply because my knowledge of CSS, HTML and web design (and all other aspects of building a webpage) were not up to par. I wanted to be able to publish a completely polished page/site that had minimal (if any) flaws. It needed to be perfect!
Now I’ve realized that not only will I never reach perfection in anything that I do (not because I’m incapable but because there is no such thing as human perfection–only God can be/is perfect); but also that there will always be room for improvement. It’s the basic nature of humans–the perpetuation of betterment is inevitable! Eventually I decided that if my dreams of a personal site are meant to be then it will come. Until then, I refuse to stifle my growth as a writer (not professional, just in general) by remaining confined to Myspace any longer. This is me. No flashy headers, no glittery links, just me. [Ly]Nette.
Love me or Leave….
